Total number of fatal and non- fatal accidents.

Analysis of above accidents gives us following lessons and area of improvement to be focused:

1. Permit to work / line clearance is not implemented as end to end solutions. Both operation and maintenance staff have failed to understand their Role and Responsibility, both as operation and maintenance engineer.  We can point a finger at victim for his role but we must appreciate that process and control have failed before his mistake.

1. Importance of earthing is not understood fully.  Work is taken up without earthing, which is a primary requirement.

1. 11 KV Switchgear operation and maintenance – As many as  8 accidents have taken place.  We always land up in a unique hypothetical reason for accident and majority of times, victim accepting his fault.  Why at all we allow this?

We have failed in our mission to achieve a goal of “Zero” accident in GETCO and all of us are responsible directly or indirectly.  It is a matter of deep regret that sensitivity and faithfulness towards safety & safe working has not built in our character as an individual inspite of knowing the serious consequences, pain and mental agony to victim and his family.

We are celebrating 50^th year of our State formation – Swarnim Gujarat and it will be befitting tribute  by all of us to rededicate ourselves to our goal of “Zero”  accident .
